Using uMyo with disposable gel electrodes and wet connectors
-
First you need to attach the wet connectors (see the picture above) to the uMyo using soldering. The board has two holes for attaching connectors (see the figure above). We made a video of this process in links from the QR code.
-
Snap two gel electrodes to the soldered connectors.
-
Find the required muscle by alternately squeezing your fingers or fist.
-
After determining the desired active muscle, fix the gel electrodes on it.
-
After placing it is necessary to check whether the position is optimal by repeated contraction of the selected muscle. The Muscle Activity LED (see picture above) should glow brighter with each contraction. This way you will know that the device captures your movements.
Using uMyo with disposable gel electrodes
Section titled “Using uMyo with disposable gel electrodes”- Solder or just attach firmly the connector buttons to uMyo PCB’s electrode connectors. See Hackaday for a video guide.
- Snap two disposable gel electrodes to the buttons.
- Find the required active muscle by alternately moving your fingers or squeezing your hand.
- After finding the required active muscle, attach uMyo with the electrodes to it.
- Check if the current position is optimal by contracting the active muscle several times. The muscle activity LED should glow: this shows that uMyo is reacting to your actions.
