Quick Start
Everything you need to start working with muscle data: one or more uMyos, a charged LiPo battery, a bracelet, a USB base (shop) (or another receiver — see Connectivity), and the Gesture Lab. Then it’s three steps.
1 · Put a battery on a uMyo
Section titled “1 · Put a battery on a uMyo”Plug or solder a charged LiPo battery to a uMyo — onto the JST connector (watch the black/red order), or to the BAT+/GND pads. One battery can power several uMyos daisy-chained (a second JST connector passes power along), or use one each. More on batteries and charging → Powering & charging.
2 · Put the uMyos on the bracelet
Section titled “2 · Put the uMyos on the bracelet”Snap them onto the bracelet on their dry electrodes — the metal button contacts. That’s what the bracelet and the whole device are built for: nothing to attach, nothing to solder. Wear it on your forearm over the muscles you want to read.
(The wet/gel snap connectors exist, but they need soldering or a firm push to hold — and gel signal is cleaner than the real use case. Skip them; dry is the way.) → Hardware · Electrodes
3 · Connect & run
Section titled “3 · Connect & run”Power on each uMyo (the tact switch turns it on and cycles mode); short-press until the LED is 🟢 green (base). Plug the USB base into your PC and launch the Gesture Lab.
Flex — the EMG traces jump, the frequency bins light, the on-device LED brightens with your effort. You’re streaming your muscle activity, live. From here: record a gesture, label it by voice, train, map it to control.
Linux today; Windows once the lab is compiled for it (coming — same app, both platforms).
